The meeting was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Dr. Qureshi expressed his sincere appreciation for the time, interest and the warmth with which all the memebership participated through the year.

Dr. Zafar Jamil, the secretary, in chronological order highlighted the contents of the Spring meeting, Women's Forum, Summer picnic and Annual Eid dinner. Needless to say, all these functions demonstrated the depth of commitment that was shown by the organizers of these events and were well attended.

Dr. Nadeem ul Haque, the treasurer, made a detailed presentation of the total expenditures for the year; because of monies still being collected he will be submitting the final report to the council in the next meeting which will be posted on the website.

There was a motion made to have a life membership category at a price tag of $525. This was unanamiouly approved by the memebership.

Soup kitchens, cancer awareness programmes, and providing expertise of different specialities were also discussed and future actions will be undertaken.

A motion was made by Dr. Zubair for the formation of an Advisory Council to the Executive Committee. There was a spirited discussion on this motion and was voted down by a two thirds majority.
